The Colorado mountain homes inventory is at the lowest it has been in years. You can still find Colorado mountain homes for sale but they are moving so fast that if you are planning to move to Colorado you should move on any home you find that really fits your needs. Any real estate agent that specializes on Colorado mountain homes will tell you the same thing. The mountain and foothills real estate market is just booming.
Supply and Demand of Colorado Mountain Homes
Some folks I work with just don’t understand the supply and demand that is on the Colorado mountain homes market. It seems like everyone wants to live in the Colorado mountains. It is understandably the Rocky Mountains are one of the most beautiful places in the world never mind just Colorado. At least once a day a buyer says “I can’t believe the cost of these Colorado Mountain Homes” they go on to say “If we were anywhere but Colorado this home would be 1/2 the price”. Yes we agree and that is most likely true. The difference is when more people want to live in an area than want to leave an area, we get rising property values. This has happened in all of Colorado including the Colorado mountain areas.
Living in the Colorado Rockies
Buying a home in the Colorado mountains does not mean you will need to live like a mountain man and chop wood and hunt for fur for clothing. The nice thing about the the Rocky Mountains in Colorado is there are different levels of “ruralness” to choose from. You can be completely off grid or live in golf community in the Colorado Mountains. In other words, buying a home in the Colorado mountains does not mean total isolation. Your Colorado Mountain Home can be as close or far away from neighbors as you would like.
Most People Move to Colorado Because of the Mountains
The one thing that sets Colorado from the rest of the country is the Colorado Rockies (the mountains not the baseball team). People live here for the quality of life. The hiking, outdoor life and skiing. Might as well live near all the things you like to do.
