Conifer, Colorado is an absolute paradise for those who love the outdoors! Temperatures can get below zero at times, but dressing in layers and warm socks will keep you comfortable. And with the lower humidity levels and intense sun, even 35-degree days can feel like 55, making for a more comfortable winter experience. 

Looking for good schools have options from elementary to high school, both public and private, with the Conifer public schools receiving great ratings. Wildlife also thrives here, and besides the herds of deer and elk that roam around, there are also buffalo, turkeys, badgers, hawks, bears, mountain lions and the occasional bald eagle and moose. They all deserve respect and space, and residents are advised to keep their distance to avoid incidents.

The Pike National Forest runs through the town of Conifer, Colorado. The area was first occupied by Arapaho, Ute and Cheyenne tribes who used it as a hunting ground. The community hosts Winterfest in February, a winter-themed beer-crawl in late September, and a zipline tour in the state’s longest and most popular tourist attraction. The town is home to wildflower-dotted meadows in the summer and aspen groves in the autumn.
