Conifer is one of the closest mountain towns to Denver and is located on the Front Range just off Highway 285. Nestled in the foothills about 15 miles south of the city of Denver, Conifer, like Denver, feels like a true mountain community and is close enough for visitors to enjoy all that the city has to offer. In 2011, Conifers High School was ranked 434 of the top 500 schools in the country by Newsweek.

The town of Conifer is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, west of Boulder, Colorado. Conifers consist of a few commercial strips located on both sides of Highway 285. In the conifer area there is a wide range of fisheries resources, most of which are located around a cluster of lakes and ponds in and around the city and boulders.

The mixture of coniferous forests is important for the protection of water catchments as well as for recreational and scenic opportunities. The forests supply many wood products made by local businesses in Colorado. The mountain districts are in close proximity to local restaurants, grocery stores and retail stores.

Historic Reynolds Park, five miles north of the city, is a monument to pioneering conifers with 17 miles of hiking, mountain biking and camping trails. Master designer Peggieander was a creative powerhouse at the 2009 Colorado Parade of Homes Showcase. She has a keen eye for striking houses and evergreen conifers.
