Evergreen, Colorado is home to 1,114 households and an average household size of 2.43 people. The city limits are set to the south by the Colorado River, and to the north by the Front Range. The current population of Evergreen is 1,114, up from 1,054 at the last census.

Evergreen is a small but picturesque hub for any type of person. As the foothills of Jefferson County sit near both the mountains and Denver, Evergreen is a perfect stop for adventurers of all kinds. A brief summary of the past.

Until the town became a hotspot for outdoor recreation, it was a hunting ground for the Ute Indians. Settlers converted the land to farms and ranches in 1860, and the residents created an economy based on lumber trade.

Evergreen came to prominence as a result of its scenery and nature proximity, which inspired the name. In 1928, Evergreen Reservoir was created to boost the town’s fame. It became a hot spot for celebrities of Old Hollywood such as Greta Garbo and Teddy Roosevelt.

The Major Attractions

Evergreen Lake is an urban lake in downtown Evergreen. It is popular year-round for recreation, including wake-less boating in the summer and ice skating in the winter. The Lake House rents boats, including canoes, paddle-boats, kayaks, sailboats, and fishing boats from early May to mid-September.

The Hiwan Heritage Park, which is a National Register of Historic Places member, can be explored in Evergreen and learned more about its history.

What to see and do in Evergreen.

Recreation is the act of taking part in physical activities that are no longer considered as sports.

The picturesque Evergreen Golf Course is situated right next to Evergreen Lake. This picturesque course is well known for its abundant wildlife and challenging alpine holes.

All of the area’s best hiking is in town. The Bear Creek Trail, which runs parallel to Bear Lake from downtown up to Evergreen Lake, is one of the area’s best hikes. Mount Evans Wilderness, which offers both backpacking and day hiking opportunities, is also close by. Take the Mount Evans Trail to the summit of this 14,000-foot mountain. Three Sisters Park East Trailhead is close by as well, with a variety of hiking and cycling trails.

June – Jun – Evergreen Rodeo – Two days of rodeo performances and a Saturday parade held over Father’s Day Weekend in mid-June.

The Evergreen Music Festival is a family-friendly music and beer event with live performances, food vendors, kids’ activities, and plenty of beer from some of Colorado’s best craft breweries. Jun – Hops Drops – Hops Drops, formerly Evergreen Music Festival, is a hop-drop-inspired music and beer event.

The Evergreen Jazz Festival is a three-day traditional jazz festival in a beautiful mountain setting, with nearly a dozen bands and many intimate venues.

Evergreen Summerfest is a two-day musical, craft, beer, and wine festival in Buchanan Park. Thousands visit this event over two days.
