Cherry Hills Village Beginning

Cherry Hills Village originated in the 1930s when two brothers purchased a large parcel of land near Denver’s foothills. As time went on, the Cherry Hills Country Club and residential lots gradually replaced the wilderness in the area. The Cherry Hills Village community was formed in the 1950s, and in 1960 the first residents moved in. Cherry Hills Village grew and expanded in the next decade. In the early 1970s, Englewood, a nearby city, annexed Cherry Hills Village. Young families seeking a less-urbanized setting than the city have recently been drawn to Cherry Hills Village, which was once a strictly retirement community. Retirees and young couples with children live in the town.
